9. Identify the highlighted (in purple) structure (hint: associated with the structure named in question 8). hair follicle (1 pt) Part Two Materials: Over the counter iodine solution (can be purchased in any drug store) Cotton balls Clean white paper towels cut in 2 cm 2 squares Procedure: You can estimate how many sweat glands you have on an area of skin by swabbing your skin with over the counter iodine solution, wipe the iodine over an area of skin, wipe off the excess, then take a clean, white paper towel square and apply the paper towel to the iodine swabbed area. Leave the towel on for 5 minutes. You should see small dark iodine spots on the paper towels that mark the sweat pores. Perform this experiment on the four body parts listed in the table. You should upload photos of your results. Include in each photograph a 3x5 card (or similar sized paper) that states your name and the date. 10. Record the number of sweat glands per body part (4 pts)

12. Explain any differences in the area as far as the number of sweat glands. (2 pts) Answer: Honestly, I think there had to be some kind of error when doing my iodine tests– a lot of the dots were very faded or faint. Additionally, I think the fact that the paper towels had their own dots may have played a part in how dark the dots were showing up– and how much data were from the paper towels vs from actual sweat glands. I think this might have been more effective if we just used plain computer paper. Or, instead, put starch over the areas in iodine to count them (I saw that on tiktok).
