A.
Analyze how different contexts contributed to the spread of Christianity from its founding until 1500 CE by doing the following:
A1: Describe one example of how empires contributed to the spread of Christianity.
Christianity appeared in the Roman province of Judea in the first century CE (WGU). The apostles helped to spread Christianity through the love of their beliefs
brought to everyone involved. As the popularity of Christianity spread, the Roman
Empire had a strong hand by providing a common language, reliable transport
and trade system, and political unification (History). Christianity was a positive source regardless of background, as the Roman Empire promised salvation and redemption. The Roman Empire spread Christianity by giving churches certain privileges
that other Romans had, allowing the impoverished and women to convert, as
they stood to gain the most positivity, as Christianity was spreading quickly.
Emperor Constantine the was first Emperor to convert to Christianity in 312 CE. He enacted the Edict of Milan that ended government persecution of Christians and made religion legal within the Roman Empire (Little). Christianity spread over many centuries and dominated Rome and the territories the Roman Empire ruled. Those who converted to Christianity felt an appreciation and comfort which inspired them
to spread the word.
A2: Describe one example of how knowledge or culture contributed to the spread of Christianity.
Monasteries played a pivotal mark as they taught, what they loved and believed, and the importance of following Christianity. The Book of Acts is a credible and trusted
example of the history of early Christian followers. Christian churches became
popular with the apostles themselves and in time, the responsibility became invested with others, called apostolic succession (WGU). The Roman empire
persecuted Christians for their beliefs but the constant persecution turned the
table for the Romans. Word spread of these persecutions which, in turn, spread
the word of Christianity and the abundance of its popularity.
B1: Describe one example of how empires contributed to the spread of Islam.
One very important merchant named Muhammed, received a revelation from the Archangel Gabriel and began repeating what he heard (WGU). These revelations,
Quran, was believed to be the words of Allah. As Muhammed led the first
Islamic state, it was chartered that violence, permission for freedom of religion,
joining all of Yathrib, to protect attacks on the city. Muhammed spread and controlled
the Arabian Peninsula and new individuals converted and joined him. As he grew
forcefully forward, he created a ummah, that united people of different tribes, languages, and other identities (WGU). After the death of Muhammed, the first
caliph that took his reign was Abu Bakr. Some of the followers left the community
because of non-trust. Bakr was able to coax them back so that the word could
be spread wisely. This was voluntary and not forced. The expansion of Islam
was received greatly and worth the political gain. As the Islam empire grew, the new rulers let their followers make their decisions on whether to convert to Islam. When they converted, it was familiar and exciting, and that made for an easy transition. The Uamayyed Empire did its best the calm and regulate the work

that had already been done. It facilitated the expansion of Islam in cultural, military, and religious terms (WGU).
B2: Describe one example of how knowledge or culture contributed to the spread of Islam.
Although there are differences between all beliefs, Islam followers believed that it helped to educate others, and that all started from the beginning
with Muhammed, even centuries later. It was powerful and spread from large
caravans or marine vessels to colossal land taking on diverse shapes (The Quran).
Islamic ideas interacted with any local culture when traveling different routes,
which brought on new forms and interpretations of the faith. As the concept
of Islam took hold, merchants and traders were drawn to Islam, as their
preparation meant becoming lucrative and their chance to earn more, which
saved them from persecution. Trade contributed to the spread of Islamic
culture and led to a growing feeling of internationalism (Khan). Caravans of travelers were critical for the expansion of Islam, as they enriched the many different cultures that had formed and linked these provinces that were distant
from each other. Along these trade routes the positivity of merchant communities developed resulting in the transfer of technology, science, and
other forms of cultural differences (Khan).
This formation wasn’t dramatic and took decades to form and to be understood.
C. Describe one similarity between the beliefs or practices of Christianity and
Islam from their founding until 1500 CE.
Both religions have similar features, as both share and study the word of God but
Islam refers to Allah. Christianity studies the bible and Islam studies the book
of Quran. In each belief, understanding and educating new members is one of
the keys to happiness. All aspects of each belief are one of a kind to each follower
and it is assured that they all know.
