Faith Based Agencies Case Study Scenario:
The case study I chose was about a 24-year-old woman named Julie. She had recently been charged with domestic battery. Consequences for this behavior included probation and having to complete anger management classes in an individual and group setting. Once Julie’s treatment process had started, her counselor, Dana, noticed that Julie would vent about all her pent-up emotions. Dana decides that for the first couple of months she would let Julie rant about her feelings about her husband. Dana can see there are some control and underlying issues contributing to Julie’s frustration that must be acknowledged.
Faith-Based Intervention Conditions In many cases, faith-based intervention can be helpful when it concerns experiences form the client’s childhood, relationship with a spouse, views on idol worship and one’s personal belief and relationship with God. During Julie’s counseling sessions, Dana observes that Julie is exhibiting traits of unresolved childhood trauma from physical, emotional, and verbal abuse she experienced from her mother and father. According to the text, she also shows traits of unresolved trauma that is self-inflicted (Martin, 2018). These traits have contributed to the damaged relationship she has between her and God as well as her and her husband. As a professional, Dana was able to help Julie gain a more understanding perspective of her childhood
and how it affected her relationship with God and her husband. Slowly dissecting the sources of

Julie’s fears and anger, Dana was able to help Julie better manage her emotional triggers and rebuild her trust and relationship with God. Local Faith-Based Agencies In North Carolina there are many faith-based agencies. These agencies not only help with spiritual needs but in most cases, they help with basic needs and necessities also. One non-profit organization is called Lighthouse Network. This faith-based organization helps Christians receive the mental health treatment they may need. Lighthouse Network is known for providing help for those with mental health and addiction issues. Another faith-based agency is FOCUS MINISTRIES. FOCUS Ministries is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) organization devoted to offering hope, encouragement, education, and assistance to women and families who are struggling in difficult circumstances, especially dysfunctional marriages, spousal abuse (domestic violence), separation, or divorce. FOCUS Ministries also offers education and training for individuals, churches, and organizations who want to help. A third faith-based agency is Freedom Farm Ministries. This one-year program at Freedom Farm Ministries is designed to introduce people to
the incredible love and grace of Jesus Christ. Through a deep and thriving relationship with Christ, guests discover a new way of living a life free of addiction. The fourth faith-based agency
in North Carolina is in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Bair Foundation serve Wake County and the northeast central region of North Carolina with Christ-centered, therapeutic foster care services. The Bair Foundation provides intervention and influence that promotes health and well-
being in the least restrictive environment while moving toward permanency. The last agency I was able to find was Mount Zion Church Helping Hands assistance resource. The Helping Hands
Ministry of Mount Zion Baptist Church of Greensboro, Inc. strives to help those within the Guilford County community and Mount Zion members that are experiencing financial hardships.
