Considering the story reported by Globalization101(n.d.), Samir Moussa is a fortunate boy who grew up and studied in the United States and has parents from different cultures, a Lebanese father, and a Colombian mother. During the holidays, he traveled a lot to his parents' countries of origin, had the opportunity to learn about poverty and the war, and was also fluent in three languages. These factors have allowed Samir to see the options that each culture brings to his life. Being born
in a country like the US will give you more opportunities to open to the world. Since the United States has no cultural history and unique ethnicity (does not discriminate
against Indians), most Americans come from different cultures, mainly immigrants from Europe, but also immigrants from places such as Asia and Africa.
I was born in Italy and had the opportunity to travel a lot in Asia, Africa, and the United States. These occasions opened my mind; the diversity of cultures of the various countries makes us understand how different we are in the economy but also the same in thoughts. When I was young, I visited Sri Lanka for several years. The first time I landed at Colombo airport, I thought: where has my husband taken me? There was a state of war in the Tamil era against the majority Sinhalese population. Then, I met local people with whom I remained friends, and we wrote to each other until the tsunami in 2004. These people were poor as well and gave me a lot. When I returned to Europe, my mind was in one state of celestial limbo, I didn't get angry anymore at all, and my heart was full of warmth.
This story is to say that I was lucky because I like traveling, so I have always looked for these opportunities. But many other people, friends of my age, did not have this desire and did not have a chance to know or experience different cultures. I feel this
difference between us overall in connection with economic and cultural discourses. Young people have more opportunities to travel now, but f it was a rarity for my generation. As soon as I could afford to visit the United States, I left and fell in love with this country. I believe that much is due to the television influence that has caught over our daily lives. Movies about the American Dream, ways to entertain, ways to communicate, quizzes, and recreational activities to make dreams come true for our young people. At the time, television was one of the mass media that entertained the average family every evening at the table. The United States has succeeded in conveying the message of an integrated and ostensibly egalitarian capitalist culture in both content and form, as quoted by Gundle & Guani (August 1986).
Such rapid changes in such a complex era of globalization need a revue of education starting from children, as Samir suggests in Globalization101(n.d.): "bridging cultural gaps and that there was no better place to start than with the children."
Education should disseminate integration and awareness of other cultures and not a
single thought that takes over local traditions; it matters, Samir's testimonial "Only dead fish swim with the stream all of the time" Globalization101(n.d.).
Consequently, dialogue and listening between different people can help to understand each other better and may seem like a stereotype, but it is crucial to pass power wars.
