Answer to Problem 1.5.6EP

The solution of the inequality $-33>5g+7$ is $g<-8$ , and graph of the solution set of the inequality is shown in figure (1).

Explanation of Solution

Given:

The inequality is $-33>5g+7$ .

Calculation:

Subtract 7 from both sides of the inequality $-33>5g+7$ .

  $\begin{array}{c}-33-7>5g+7-7\\ -40>5g\\ -\frac{40}{5}>g\\ g<-8\end{array}$

Therefore, the solution of the inequality $-33>5g+7$ is $g<-8$ .

The graph of the solution set of the inequality is as follows.

The graph for the inequality $g<-8$ contains all values that are less than to $-8$ and dot shows $-8$ is not included in solution set.

Therefore, the solution of the inequality $-33>5g+7$ is $g<-8$ , and graph of the solution set of the inequality is shown in figure (1).
