To find of the following must be true for any trapezoid.

Answer to Problem 5.12EX
Option (b) At least one
Explanation of Solution
Given information: Options are,
a. Any two consecutive angles are supplementary.
b. At least one angle is obtuse.
c. The diagonals bisect each other.
d. The median bisects each base.
Calculation: The required solutions is obtained as,
We have to note that this only works if the consecutive angle are along the same leg of the trapezoid. However, if they are next to each other along a base, they are not supplementary in a trapezoid.
In a trapezoid, the angles must add up to 360. Each set of two angles along a leg must be equal to 180. However, only one pair can have right angles.
Therefore, option (b) At least one angle is obtuse, is correct.
