Question
Chapter B, Problem 8DQ
Summary Introduction
To determine: The number of feasible solutions in a linear program and the ones we need to analyze to find the optimal solution.
Introduction:
Linear programming:
It is a linear optimization technique followed to develop a best outcome for the problem on hand. The outcome might be maximum profit or less cost which are represented by a linear relationship. The outcome will take into consideration the constraints present in achieving the solution.
Feasible solution:
A feasible solution is a set of all the possible values for the defined decision variables. The feasible solution is achieved after satisfying all the constraints.

XYZ Incorporated has received a contract to supply gravel to three new road projects located at three different locations. Project A needs 174 truckloads, Project B needs 204 truckloads, and Project C needs 143 truckloads. The company has three gravel warehouses located in three different places. Warehouse 1 has 158 truckloads available, warehouse 2 has 184, and warehouse 3 has 179. The cost of transportation from the warehouse to the projects are: from warehouse 1 to Projects A, B, C = Php 4, Php 8, Php 8 per truckload respectively. From warehouse 2 to Projects A, B, C = Php 16, Php 24, Php 16 per truckload respectively. From warehouse 3 to Projects A, B, C = Php 8, Php 16, Php 24 per truckload respectively. Use this information to determine: the time it will take the team to assemble the 10th car. Create an excel spreadsheet having the following table. You must show the formula used in the excel sheets to calculate values in the columns. Plot Number of Units vs Time (in hours) and Number of Units vs Cumulative Time (in hours) in the same plot.
