Interpretation:
The species in which bonding is best described by delocalized bonding, is to be identified.
Concept introduction:
Delocalization involves the movement of an unshared electron pair, or pi electrons, to an adjacent position to form a new pi bond. Pi electrons shared between two atoms can also move to an atom and generate a negative charge on it.
Resonance takes place through the delocalization of electrons.
When electrons are delocalized, two or more resonating structures can be possible for a molecule.
