Summary Introduction
Introduction:
On the basis of the information received from different areas, the respiratory centers activate the ventilator pattern. The major areas are the peripheral chemoreceptors and central chemoreceptors. Apart from these two, other factors such as, Hering-Breuer reflex, irritant reflex, deflation reflex, peripheral proprioceptor, juxtapulmonary-capillary receptors, hypothalamic control, and aortic and carotid sinus baroreceptor reflexes also influence the rate and depth of breathing.
