Moreover, it is a form of chemical messenger that conducts signals across a chemical synapse. For example, neuromuscular junction, from one nerve cell to another muscle cell, neuron, and gland cell. A neurotransmitter can affect both psychological and physical functions such as sleep, heart rate, mood, appetite, and fear.
