As we see in the histogram of part (a), we can say that the histogram is uni-modal as there is only one mode and the histogram is skewed to the right as the tail of the histogram is to the right of the graph. For a right skewed distribution, the mean is typically greater than the median. Also notice that the tail of the distribution on the right hand (positive) side is longer than on the left hand side.

To find out what aspect of the company’s problem is more apparent in the scatterplot.

Explanation of Solution

It shows the relationship of the number of broken pieces and the number of batches. It shows that the histogram is positive and also somewhat there is a linear relation between the number of batch number and the number of broken pieces. As there is more batches there is more number of broken pieces.
