Explanation of Solution

A survey of people were taken who responded to the discovery channel poll and reported the ten best roller coaster in United states. The information about the roller coaster, initial drop and the time of ride of the roller coaster is given in the question. To find about the association we will construct a scatterplot of the length of drop and the duration of the ride is as follows:

  

From the scatterplot on the above, the data do not suggest any significant correlation between the height of a roller coaster and the length of the ride one would expect. As the points in the scatterplot do not show any pattern that indicate any association. Thus, we can say that they are moderately correlated.
