Question
Chapter 7, Problem 7SQ
Summary Introduction
Introduction:
The final stage of aerobic respiration is electron transfer phosphorylation. Coenzymes reduced in earlier reactions deliver electrons and hydrogen ions to electron transfer chains in the inner mitochondrial membrane. The flow of hydrogen ions through these proteins drives ATP synthesis. Oxygen accepts electrons at the end of the electron transfer chains and combines with hydrogen ions to form water.
