Concept introduction:
Differentiation of cells into specific cell types with specialized functions depends upon the expression of genes in that particular cell type. It includes transcription of gene sequences to form mRNA that is then translated to it specific functional protein. The pattern of gene expression includes a set of differential accumulation of its products in cells and contributes in progression of development. The patterns of mRNAs among different cell types show differential expression levels in all active genes.
