The measure of an exterior

Answer to Problem 40PPS
The measure of each exterior angle is 27.7. and the measure of each interior angle is 152.3.
Explanation of Solution
Given:
The given polygon has 13 sides.
Calculation:
The sum of the measures of exterior angles of a convex polygon, one angle at each vertex is 360.
Also, in a regular 13-gon, there are 13 congruent interior angles.
The exterior angles of a 13-gon are also congruent as angles supplementary to congruent angles are also congruent.
Suppose, the measure of each exterior angle be n.
Therefore,
13n=360n=36013n=27.7
Suppose, the measure of each interior angle be m.
So, m+n=180 , as an interior angle and an exterior angle make a linear pair.
Therefore,
m=180−nm=180−27.7m=152.3
The measure of each exterior angle is 27.7. and the measure of each interior angle is 152.3.

Then she reasoned that the three smaller triangles resulting could be subtracted from the area of the rectangle.
