Show that the matrix
$A=\left(\begin{array}{cc}\cos \theta & -\sin \theta \\ \sin \theta & \cos \theta \end{array}\right)$
will have complex eigenvalues if $\theta$ is not a multiple of $\pi .$ Give a geometric interpretation of this result.
