O 2  consumedin 1 minute =  2025 6  

=337.5 ml

= 20250 ml

=20.25 L

1 L of oxygen consumed = 5 kcal

20.25 L of oxygen consumed = 20.25×5

= 101.25 kcal

Metabolic rate =  101.25 72  

= 1.41 kcal/kg/hour

The metabolic rate of a person is 1.41 kcal/kg/hr.
