Various forms of digital memory, such as cache memory, hard disk drives (HDD), random access memory (RAM), solid state drives (SSD), and others, may be employed. Computers can be used to access all of these items. Is having many standards beneficial, or would it be better for customers if there was only one memory standard, such as the different SSD sizes? What are the advantages of having several standards, if any? Is it advantageous to have several distinct standards? If there was just one requirement that had to be met, would it make things easier and more economical for consumers?
