The role of the mechanoreceptors, which are specific, when (a) a filled glass is held in the hands of an individual and (b) when the heavy furniture is lifted.
Introduction:
The skeletal muscles constitute specific mechanoreceptors that are called muscle spindles. These receptors are present in the tissues of the muscles and help in its contraction and relaxation. The mechanoreceptors that are found in ligaments and tendons are called Golgi tendon organ. They keep the force exerted on the muscle in control.
