Summary Introduction

Cancer cells are characterized by the uncontrolled proliferation of abnormal cells, invasion, and metastasis. Cancer cells lack the differentiation and maturation into the specialized cells. The drugs that are used to treat cancer are generally known as chemotherapeutic drugs or antineoplastic drugs. The major adverse effects of chemotherapy are immune suppression, gastrointestinal distress, fatigue, anemia, nausea, vomiting, hair loss, stomatitis, and so on.
