The number of bagels $b$ remaining in a dozen depends on the number $s$ that have been sold.

Calculation:

Consider number of bagels in dozen is represented by $b$ and number on it have been sold is represented by $s$ .

Since $b$ depends on $s$ . So this gives function rule

  $b=12s$

Make table of values using this function rule. Choose any $s$ value. Substitute in function rule and solve for $b$ value. Table is as follows:

$b$	0	12	24	36	48

Graph each ordered pair $\left(s,b\right)$ . Graph is as follows. In this graph horizontal axis represents number of sold and vertical axis represents number of bagels in dozen.

  

Observe the graph. Found that bagels can sold only in dozen.

By the definition, a continuous graph is graph that is unbroken and discrete graph is composed of distinct, isolated points.

Thus, this relationship should be represented by discrete graph.
