Introduction: Phosphorylation and nucleotide-binding help in regulating the protein activity. Phosphorylation is a process in which a phosphate group will be added to the amino-acid side chain of a protein. This process is carried out by the enzyme protein kinase. This helps in the regulation of proteins by altering the protein properties or its activity. Nucleotide-binding proteins are a group of proteins that can bind to the nucleotides, which helps in the regulation of protein activity. Example- G proteins which can bind to the guanosine triphosphate (GTP) and kinases which binds to the adenosine triphosphate (ATP).
