To explain: The effect of temperature on mutant enzyme at molecular level.
Concept introduction:
Proteins are the foremost component in the cell. Protein folding, their stability, and the structure are highly dependent on temperature variation. An enzyme produced by a cell works at a specific temperature because of the particular type of protein folding (a pattern of amino acids sequences) within them.
A normal cell is able to produce and make their enzymes active at different temperature as they possess the capability to alter the amino acid sequences in multiple orders but if a mutation occurs, the optimum temperature of the enzyme changes and definitely they do not work at any other temperature as they lose the capability to alter the amino acid sequences and refolding the protein structure according to the temperature change.
