Summary Introduction
Introduction: When a lipid bilayer separates two fluids with differing solute concentrations, water will diffuse across it. A hypotonic solution describes a fluid that has a low overall solute concentration. When a cell is placed in the hypotonic solutions, the water moves into the cell that may cause cell to burst.
