The hypothalamus is a small area of the brain. It is located near the pituitary gland, at the base of the brain.
The hypothalamus is also called the master switchboard or master gland because it is the part of the brain that controls the activity of endocrine glands.
However, it is very small in size but it plays an essential role in various important functions. It not only regulates the release of hormones but also regulates body temperature.
