Concept explainers
Why are there deposits of lead in all deposits of uranium ore?
The reason for deposit of lead in all deposits of uranium ore.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
The radioactive decay process is the process in which the radioactive element attains the stability by ejecting the radioactive particles.
Uranium is the radioactive element most abundantly on the earth. It undergoes the radioactive decay process by ejecting radioactive particles until the nucleus becomes stable. Uranium after the radioactive decay converts into lead. Lead is the byproduct of uranium and all the ore of uranium continuously changes to lead. So, all the deposit of uranium ore contains the deposit of lead.
Conclusion:
Thus, the deposit of lead in all deposits of uranium ore because the lead is the product in radioactive decay process of uranium.
