Concept explainers
To explain: The magnetic field and its source.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
If a bar magnet is placed in between iron filings, then they experience a force on them due to the magnet and are arranged in a particular manner called the magnetic field lines. The force so experienced is due to the presence of magnetic field.
The region where the force is experienced around a magnetic material is termed as magnetic field. The magnetic field can be represented by the magnetic field lines. Magnetic field can be generated by a current carrying conductor. So, motion of electric charge or motion of electrons is the source of the magnetic field.
Conclusion:
The region where the force is experienced around a magnetic material is termed as magnetic field and the motion of electrons is the source of the magnetic field.
