Introduction:
Plant nutrients are absorbed from the soil in the form of ions. The soil provides nitrogen, potassium, phosphorous, magnesium, calcium, sulfur, etc. in a relatively large amount known as macronutrients. The soil also provides manganese, iron, boron, copper, molybdenum, zinc, cobalt, chlorine, and others. These nutrients must be present in the appropriate ratios and quantities.
