In plants, the movement of water across the plasma membrane also takes place with the help of protein channels. These channels are called the aquaporins (AQPs) and are located on the plasma membrane as intrinsic transmembrane proteins that act as channels for the movement of water molecules. APQs are present in all living organisms.
