Chapter 3.3, Problem 1RV
Summary Introduction
To define:
The term ‘salinity’.
Expert Solution & Answer
Explanation of Solution
In biology, salinity is an indicator of the amount of salts present in a mixture. A higher salinity represents a higher salt concentration in the mixture and lower salinity is an indicator of low salt content. For example, rivers have less concentration of salts, and seawater has more concentration of salts, hence, the salinity of seawater is higher than the river water.
