Introduction:
According to the charge conservation principle, an electron is neither created nor destroyed. They are attracted or repelled from one surface to another to conserve the quantity.
Every atom consists of two oppositely charged particles; positive and negative. The five thousand billion billion electrons present in a penny, repel each other with a strong force. But, nucleus consists of positively charged protons which binds the number of electrons revolving around it. The number of protons is equal in positively charge to the total number of electrons in a penny. Thus, both balance each other forces.
Conclusion:
Thus, both protons and electrons of opposite charges attract each other, and the combination of both stays in a penny, does not leave it.
