Which method of charging objects involves no touching?
Method of charging objects which involves no touching.
Answer to Problem 17A
Induction method.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Basically, there are three types of methods used to charge the objects:
- Charging by friction
- Charging by contact
- Charging by induction
When one rub two objects with each other, then the charging is said to be done by method of friction. Charging by contact involves a charged object to be in contact with a neutral object hence transferring the charge. To explain the method of induction, consider two neutral conductors A and B. When a positively charged plate is placed between them, electrons will start moving to the left and the two conductors get charged without any contact with each other.
Conclusion:
Thus, the method of charging objects which involves no touching is induction.
