From the above scatter plot we see the relationship is curved indicated strength of the linear relationship. Values of r near 0 indicate a very week linear relationship it does not mean they are not related. In this case speed and mileage are strongly related but relation between them is not linear, it is curved. That’s why correlation between them is 0.
