To determine:
The consequence of drying of a large river.
Introduction:
The rivers are the water bodies that originate from the mountains having snow caps (not necessarily) and flow through the plains. In the end they drain into the oceans, where the meeting point of the river and the ocean forms an estuary.
Explanation of Solution
The rivers are very important from the ecological and economic point of view. The rivers are the source of recharging ground water and irrigation. This would lead to drought and will not support the growth of crops. Also, the rivers serve as a reserve of fresh water. Drying up of river would lead to shortage of drinkable water. The ecology of the area will be disturbed as the organisms living in the river and nearby the river cannot survive.
