Explanation of Solution

The biomes can be characterized by both, its plants and animals. The biomes are generally characterized by the plants because the plants are immobile and it is easy to study them without harming them. The animals are mobile and they have their own different behavior, studying animals may also require studying their internal anatomy that can be sometime cause lifetime issues.
