Tobacco mosaic virus (TMV) infects extensive variety of plants. This virus particularly infects the tobacco plant and other Solanaceae member. The infected plant shows mosaic like mottling in addition to discoloration. For these reasons, this virus was named as TMV. It is a single stranded RNA virus.
