Interpretation:
The possible amino acid sequences in the tetrapeptide which on analysis gave alanine, glycine, phenylalanine, and valine in equimolar amounts are to be determined.
Concept Introduction:
A peptide bond is an amide bond. A tetrapeptide contains four amino acids linked by the peptide bonds.
A peptide bond is formed between the amino group of one amino acid and the carboxyl group of the other amino acid.
The peptide structures are written, such that the amino group is at the left side and the carboxyl group is at the right side.
The left end of the peptide is called the N terminus and the right end is called the C terminus.
