Interpretation: To name two standard amino acids that participates in the urea cycle.
Concept introduction: Amino acids are the main building blocks of proteins. Amino acids that participate in peptide bond synthesis in proteins are known as standard amino acids. Amino acids that do not participate in peptide bond synthesis and not found in protein are known as nonstandard amino acids.
There are 20 standard amino acids (essential and non-essential) present in nature. The standard amino acids are arginine, histidine, isoleucine, leucine, lysine, methionine, phenylalanine, threonine, tryptophan, valine, alanine, asparagines, aspartic acid, cysteine, glutamic acid, glutamine, glycine, proline, serine, and tyrosine.
