Interpretation:
The resonance structure for each compound is to be represented by the curved arrows that are considered as a guide to place the electrons.
Concept introduction:
In resonance structures, the electrons can move in order to helpstabilizing the molecule and, the compound should have same number of electrons.
Movement of electrons is shown by curved arrows in the compounds.
In a molecule, addition of nonbonded electrons and number of bonds is subtracted by valence electrons on the atom, this is known as formal charge.
The rules for drawing resonance structures are as:
Only nonbonding electron pairs and pi electrons can participate in conjugation in the formation of various resonating structures.
The single bonds present in the molecule do not break or form in the resonance structures.
The placement of atoms present in the molecule remains fixed.
The octet of all atoms is completely filled.
