Kyle Boulard, a 35-year-old male, is believed to be one of the primary causes of the a bus accident on Route 91. Passengers on the bus reported that Mr. Boulard was clearly intoxicated when he boarded the bus. According to these reports, Mr. Boulard behaved erratically, appeared disoriented, and left his seat and staggered down the aisle. Just prior to the accident, he had stumbled into the driver’s compartment. Paramedics found Mr. Boulard in a disoriented state when they arrived on the scene, but noted only minor injuries. A “fruity acetone combined with alcohol” smell was noted on his breath. What follows is a summary of the notable test results:

She routinely slaughtered pigs and cooked pork for family meals. She had a wide variety of recipes that called for pork. A few days after preparing one of her famous pork dishes, Renota experienced diarrhea, abdominal pain, and chronic indigestion. She went to her family physician and explained her symptoms to him. The physician, who knew the family well and was familiar with the family business, immediately suspected a bacterial or parasitic infection. A stool sample for routine bacterial culture and O&P study was collected from Renota and submitted to the local diagnostic laboratory. Routine processing procedures were conducted on the stool sample. Gross examination of the stool revealed a portion of the infecting worm (Fig. A). An egg, measuring 36 by 25 um (Fig. B), was seen on the permanent O&P slide. No intestinal bacterial pathogens were isolated. 1. What is the morphologic form of Figure…arrow_forward

Include the location, any pathways impacted, and the purpose of ketone formation. c) Give the names of the three different ketone bodies, and indicate which ones are used for fuel in extrahepatic cells. d) When ketones are used by extrahepatic cells for fuel, why is a new enzyme used in the pathway (why not simply reverse the pathway used to form ketones)?
