Introduction:

Vagina is a part of the genitourinary tract that is exposed to the environment and is rich in bacteria and yeast. The growth of these microbes is facilitated by the large surface area and the secretion of the female genital tract. Hence, there are chances that pathogenic microorganisms could colonize this area. To protect the body from this, there is a well-developed microbiome of specific microbial species. Any change in their normal composition can have adverse effects on health.
