Concept explainers
To Explain: The term evaporation and that it is a cooling process.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction: Evaporation is a process in which the liquid phase change into the gaseous phase.
On evaporation the liquid evaporates from the surface which produces the cooling effect as the energy is removed from that surface when the liquid is converted into vapors. Thus, it is also known as cooling process as in this process, cooling effect occurs by removing of heat from the surface.
Conclusion:
The process of converting liquid phase into vapours phase is known as evaporation. It is also known as cooling process as in this process cooling effect occurs by absorbing the heat from surrounding.
