Circuit with given elements is shown in Figure 1.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Series Circuit:
A circuit in which one or more elements are connected one by one in a chain making a single path is a series circuit.
The current through all the resistors is same and the total voltage is distributed to all the resistors.
Potentiometer:
It is a three terminal element with variable resistance. The third terminal helps in adjusting the resistance.
Switch:
It is an electrical element which is used to make or break the circuit.
Ammeter:
It is used to measure the current. It is always connected in series.
Voltmeter:
It is used to measure voltage. It is always connected in parallel to the element of which voltage is to be measured.
The series circuit with the given elements is shown below,

The switch and potentiometer with a variable resistor are connected in series along with the lamp. The series elements are connected across the battery, that will complete the circuit. To measure the current flowing through the lamp, ammeter is connected in series while to measure the voltage across lamp, voltmeter is connected in parallel with the lamp.
