Concept explainers
To Explain: Thermal equilibrium.
Explanation of Solution
Introduction:
Energy contained by matter is called thermal energy. This energy arises due to the vibrations of molecules of the matter. It is responsible for the temperature of the matter.
When thermal energy transfers from one body to another, it is called heat. Heat always flows from a body which has higher temperature to the one which lower temperature as compared to the former until both the bodies have the same thermal energy or one can say temperature. Two bodies having same temperature are said to be in thermal equilibrium.
