Introduction:

A blood reservoir is any organ that holds a large amount of blood. The veins and venules are referred as the blood reservoirs. This is so as they hold the largest amount of blood, which almost accounts for 60% of the entire body's blood volume.

A pressure reservoir is a term assigned to arteries in the body as they ensure a continuous flow of blood in the capillaries by virtue of their elasticity and high tensile strength. The elastin fibers in the arteries attribute to its elasticity and collagen fibers give arteries necessary tensile strength.
