Chapter 21, Problem 34CP
Summary Introduction

To review:

The regions drained by the gonadal, renal, lumbar, hepatic veins, suprarenal, and inferior veins drain.

Introduction:

Veins are responsible for transporting the deoxygenated form of blood either to the inferior or superior vena cava (IVC or SVC), which then pass the blood to the heart's right atrium. From the heart, this oxygenated blood is transported to the lungs for oxygenation. The above-mentioned veins are responsible for transporting blood from the lower portion of the wall of the abdomen, the pelvic viscera, and abdominal viscera to the IVC.
