Chapter 21, Problem 31R
To determine
The blank in the given statement is to be filled.
Expert Solution & Answer
Answer to Problem 31R
Solubility
Explanation of Solution
Solubility can be defined as the amount of solute that can dissolve in 100 grams of the solvent at a given temperature. Solubility is increased with the increase in the temperature. Three main factors which affect the solubility are: temperature, polarity, pressure.
Conclusion:
Only a certain amount of solute can be dissolved in a given amount of solvent. This maximum amount is called solubility.
