Question
Chapter 20.4, Problem 2CC
Summary Introduction
To explain: Three different properties acquired by crop plants via genetic engineering.
Concept introduction:
Genetic engineering is the process of insertion of a target DNA segment consisting of a gene of interest from one organism to another. The inserted DNA segment expresses in the new genetically engineered organism. These are known as genetically modified organisms (GMOs). Genetic engineering is also followed for the crop plants, as a single tissue cell can form an adult plant. They are known as genetically modified crops (GM crops) and account for resistance properties, and some other desirable traits.
