Fungi are both unicellular and multicellular forms of eukaryotic microbes that are found in the clade of Opsikonta. They are made up of many phyla which though share many common traits of fungi yet differ in terms of physical appearance and life cycle. Differences exist in the formation of gametes and the zygote and alternating haploid and diploid forms exist during the life cycle.
