Base 8:
- Base 8 generally represents the octal number system.
- It consists of eight digits that is from 0 to 7.
- A machine code consists of normally binary digits which are represented in bits and are very large to handle in an
operating system . - An octal digit can be obtained from a binary digit by grouping three consecutive bits starting from the right.
- Octal number is the method which represents 8 as the base of each digit.
Base 16:
- It generally represents the hexadecimal number system.
- These are widely used by computer programmers and designers.
- It consists of sixteen digits that is from 0 to 9 and from 10 to 15 and is represented with letters A to F.
- The machine code generally consists of binary digits which are represented in bits that is very difficult to handle in an operating system.
- A group of four binary digits can be referred to as a hexadecimal digit.
- Hexadecimal number is the method which represents 16 as the base of each digit.
